Elle 17 days old

I think this little angel is so happy to be home!
Look at this, she is really smiling....
She is just a sweetheart.
I miss her so much.
Can't wait to see her again when
they bless her next month.

Elle's first bath..

Elle in the hospital......

On Thursday, May 7th, Matt called and told us that
Elle had been running a really high temperature
and needed to be admitted into the hospital.
Elle was 13 days old.

This was so alarming to us.
They didn't know why she would be running such a
high fever.  They were doing lots of testing
but no conclusions.

Friday morning, Wynn and I looked at each
other and we knew what we needed to do.

We hopped in the car and headed for Vegas.

It took us 9 hours to get there.
As we walked into the hospital, I didn't know
who to hug first.  I finally got to meet our new little
granddaughter.

She is a doll!  So little and so cute.  Her pictures
just didn't do her justice.  She was just so little
and so sweet.  My heart wept for her being all
hooked up to machines.

I also felt so sorry for Matt & Kayla.
Such new parents and such a heavy heart.

After all the testing and even quarantining her,
they just think it was a viral infection.

She was in the hospital for Thursday afternoon until
Sunday morning.  The longest week-end of our
lives!

After many blessings and lots of prayers, I think
she is in the clear.

So thankful for such a good Mom and Dad
to love and care for her.

On Sunday after the kids took Elle home,
we took pictures.
This was Mother's Day too.
Oh, Kayla's first one.....

If I hadn't of seen it for myself, I wouldn't of believed it but,
Matt had this baby just smiling.  Yup, barely two weeks and she was
really smiling.  I think she was glad to get home too.
We bonded totally and completely.
Look at her just look at me.
Oh, I'm in love.

So, is Grandpa!

So glad we went to Vegas.
We just needed to support the kids.
Glad we could go.
Just  love them all so much.
A different Mother's Day but a good one.
I got to talk to all my kids and my Mom too.
Perfect!!!!!
We did take some time Saturday morning and attended
the Las Vegas temple.
What peace we felt as we entered there.
We knew everything would be alright.
So thankful for the gospel and the
peace it brings into our hearts and lives.

We left Sunday evening and drove to Cedar City and
spent the night.
We got up on Monday morning and headed for home.
We stopped at the Hill Air force base and looked
at the planes.
Wynn was in heaven.....

Then, we stopped in Ogden at the Train museum
and looked at all the old trains.
They were huge!

We had a nice day spending it doing whatever we wanted.
I just love my life!

Frozen Yogurt

Last week Brookie called and invited me to go get frozen yogurt with
her and the kids.
How could I say no to that?
Such fun kids, I love them so!

We are so blessed, I just love all these guys.

Jenna & Hailey visit.......

Jenna and Hailey came for a visit.
They came for a few weeks since Sam was
going to Moab to bike with the boys.
So fun having them here.
April 24th - May 6th

May 1st was Sam and Hailey's 5th wedding Anniversary.
They celebrated before they came.

Hailey brought Jenna over when they got here on that Friday.
Jenna had to have Grandpa get the slide out.
She had on a darling shirt that said
"Big Sister"
Yup, that is how the announced that Hailey is going to have
a new little Monk.
We couldn't be more happy.

We tried to do lots of fun things while they were here.
We had planned on going  to Rigby Lake to play on the
toys but the new toy wasn't put together yet.
So, we tried the park by the rodeo grounds.
There was road construction there.
So, we ended up at Emily and Camden's school.
Brooke stopped and got the kids ice cream at
Wendy's.
They had so much fun.
The weather was perfect.

 This is my favorite picture.
if only Elle was in this picture
it would be perfect.
Think there is room for one more?

On Saturday while the guys were in Moab, we took the kids
to do the Kress Creek hike.
We had a ball!
We then went to Jackson Hole and went swimming.
A perfect place to swim for kids.
They loved it.
I think Jenna went on the water slide at least 100 times.
Hailey had had it when we were done.

Dinner at McDonald's before the ride home.

Jenna's loves slides!
So glad they could come spend some time with us.
I love how Hailey is so good about splitting the time
with her family.
We are so blessed to have her in our family.

Baby Elle is here!

Eleanor Effie Monk
April 24, 2015
11:46 p.m.
7 lbs. 6 oz.
And she is perfect!

We couldn't be more excited to get this baby here!
Kayla had a hard time, she was in labor a l-o-n-g time.
Poor girl.  But, look at this baby!  She is adorable and
I so want to snuggle her and kiss those cheeks.
She looks like Kayla.

They named  her Eleanor Effie.
Effie after Wynn's Mom.
She was born on her birthday.
So appropriate.
We'll call her baby Elle.

I just love her so much and I haven't even seen her yet!
