Island Park with the Kinghorns

Wynn did get our truck back into working order and so we got to go
on another adventure this week end, July 24, 25, & 26th.

Wynn took off early on Thursday and we packed up and headed for Island Park.
Our good friends, the Kinghorn's, have a piece of property up just past
Macrea''s Bridge.  It was beautiful!

We camped two nights, Thursday  and Friday night.

Friday morning, we headed out for a long RZ ride.
Here we are just past Macrae's Bridge.
My cute honey, ready to go!

Kay looks all bundled up.  It is pretty chilly when we are driving.

We went up past Big Springs and got on the old railroad bed and
drove it all the way to West Yellowstone.
It was so fun!  We had lunch in West.
Then we headed for Lion's Head trail.
So beautiful!  So many wildflowers.  I loved it. . .

Wynn even picked my a bouquet!

After Lion's Head, we went to the top of TwoTop mountain.
Here we are, it was so windy!
But, what a fun day.
We went 115 miles today.

On Saturday morning, we were just going to go on a short ride and then
come back to camp and have lunch and then go floating in the river.
We went up to Sawtelle.  I haven't been up there for a lot of years.
It was simply beautiful.  These pictures don't do it justice.

Kay and I - a Selfie!

On our way back to camp, there was a beautiful cabin and Kay and Loren
recognized the women that was there.  It was Elder and Sister Mickelsen's
cabin!  He married Sam and Hailey and Brittney and Brian.
Well, we stopped and they were so hospitable!  They showed us their
beautiful cabin/home!  Oh my, it was so beautiful!  They even invited
us for lunch!  When Elder Mickelsen was a Seventy, his assignment
was in Mexico and so they lived there for five years.  Sis. Mickelsen made us
a burrito.  She says she always keeps them on hand so she has
a meal to share.  It was amazing to sit at their table and feel of their spirit.
Such wonderful people, so glad I got to be in their presence.   What
a tender mercy.

We headed back to camp, too late to go on a float trip but so happy we
got to visit with the Mickelsens!
We packed up camp and went  home.
Another successful  week-end to add to the books.

Sand Creek Saturday. . .

On Saturday, July 19th, Wynn and I headed out on an adventure!
We went out past St. Antony to the Sand Creek Ponds.
I had never been there before and Wynn hadn't been there
for a long time.  He could remember going there as a kid
with his family and fishing.  It was such a beautiful day!  We
just relaxed and enjoyed our picnic and had a ball riding
the RZ to all three of these little ponds.

 "Selfie"
 My honey!
The Indian Paintbrush was simply beautiful!
We left in plenty of time to go home to get cleaned up and then we needed to
head back to Rexburg to go to a wedding reception of our dear friends son.
We were just going through Rigby when low and behold, our tire fell off.
Yes, you read that right, our rear drivers side tire went right out into
the road into the traffic.  Oh my, my heart was just a thumping.  It hit
the burm in the middle of the road then shot across the road and into
the roadside.  I couldn't believe it didn't cause a wreck!  We just slowed
down and pulled over to the side of the road.  We were fine and our truck
was now a three wheeler!  We had to call a wrecker to come get us.
I sure felt watched over this day.  I know Heavenly Father loves me and
knows me personally.  I felt his love today.  We are so blessed.
Needless to say, we didn't make the wedding reception.

Temple Thursday

This morning, July 17th, Kay and Loren's youngest son,
Riley, went to the temple for the first time.
He will be leaving on his  mission in August.
He is going to the Roanoke, Virginia mission.
That is where Wynn served.  WE are excited for him.

Lucky me, I got to go to the temple with them.
What an awesome experience.  I learned a great lesson!
I learned to always trust in the Lord and it will always
work out.  Let me explain. . .

In May, Kay and Loren's daughter, Britney got married.
It just seemed so perfect for Riley to go to the temple with
Britney when she went through.  This would be
Kay's dream day, when the whole family could
be in the temple together.

Riley had his mission call, only two days of school
left and they weren't really school days, just practice
days for graduation.  But, their stake president would
not let Riley go to the temple.  The rule is, they
must me graduated from high school before they
should go.  Well, it seemed so foolish to me.
He was so close.

Kay and Loren did not kick up a fuss.  (I think I would of).
I felt so bad that Riley couldn't witness Britney's
wedding and that their family couldn't be all
together in the temple.

You see, Kay's oldest son lives in Kansas and would
not be coming back for Riley's temple day or for
his farewell.

Well, today at the temple, it just felt so right!
The spirit taught me that there is great joy
in following our leaders and the rules!
Riley got HIS day in the temple and it just
so happened that Britney was here.  She
came for a wedding so she got to be there.
It was just so relaxed and it was Riley's day.
I'm so glad that I could be there and experience
this great day.

WE love the Kinghorn's so much.
They are the best friends in the world.
We have been so blessed having them in our lives.
I'm so glad I got to go to the temple today and
share this special day with them.

Congratulations Riley Kinghorn!
WE love you!

FHE

Monday night was our last FHE for this semester.
I cannot lie, I'm glad it's come to an end.
It's a lot of work to make dinner for these guys each
Monday night.  Don't get me wrong, I love it, but it's
still a lot of work.

We did hamburgers with all the trimmings.

So much fun having these kids come into our home.
So great getting to know them better.
Always gives me such great hope because there
are so many great kids out there who
will someday run not only our church
but the world.

WE love you all, YSA 39th Ward!
See you next semester!

Ward Camp Out

Last week end it was Wynn's Ward Camp Out at
Beaver Dick Park up by Rexburg.
We had such a great time!
We ate BBQ sandwiches, Apple cobbler, and
roasted marshmallows on the fire.
We sat around and visited and played games.
Such great kids, we always enjoy their company.
What a blessing it is to be able to serve with them.

Saturday morning, Br. McKeller came and did a magic show
for us.  It always amazes me!

So fun and so much work,
we simple love it!

Reed's Dairy w/Shauna

Last Thursday, July 10th, Shauna Tippetts, Kayla's Mom, came and stayed
the night with us.  I felt so honored that she asked me to pick her up
at the airport and then spend the night with us.  She was going
up to BYU-I on Friday to spend the weekend with Mariah.
Of course, we had to go to Reed's Dairy for ice cream and
send a picture to Matt and Kayla.
Shauna is so much fun, we get along so well.
We are so blessed the Matt has such great in-laws!
I hope she comes again real soon.

Lava Hot Springs

It has been so hot!
Wynn and I took Emily and Camden to Lava last
Thursday, July 10th.

We had a ball!  What cute grand babies we have.
We swam and played and had a totally
great time.  We had a picnic lunch and then
we swam some more.
Lave is such a great place to go, I hope we
go back again this summer.
Camden and Emily were such good kids
and we  had so much fun.
I simply love being their Grandma!

Activity Day's at the Zoo. . .

Today we took our Activity Day girls to the zoo.
I put together a scavenger hunt for them to do once we got there.
They  had a ball!  They seemed to really like the hunt and it
gave them something to keep things up beat!

Such cute girls, I love each one of them.

After the zoo, we went to the park and found a tree
and enjoyed the shade while we ate our lunch.

Of course, there was a prize for finishing the scavenger hunt. . .
Tootsie Pop suckers for everyone!

Organization!

So, as you can tell, my pantry is a mess!
Kind of a catch all.  I saw these organizer boxes and
thought they were the answer to my messy pantry.
I bought them and I couldn't wait to get busy and
get all organized!

Well, I cleaned and organized and I even took some stuff
to the DI but, it still looks pretty messy.  I'm not sure
the can organizers that I bought are the right thing for me.
They seem to take up a lot of space.  I just might put
them down the basement in my storage room but
for now, I'm satified!

 Before
After

Bye, bye Jenna!

I took this picture of Jenna and Natalie on Tuesday, July 8th.
Jenna and Hailey are going home tomorrow.
Our hearts are broken, we will miss them so much.
We have had so much fun having them here for a visit.

Natalie bought Jenna a new book to take home with her
and she is reading it to  her.

What a darling little girl,
we love them all!

FHE

What a great bunch of kids!  So fun having them come into our home for dinner.
We enjoyed each and everyone of these kids as they told us all about
themselves.  So interesting. . .

Family Sunday. . .

On Sunday Matt, Kayla and I traveled to Rexburg to go
to Wynn's ward up there.

After sacrament meeting we went to visit Matt and Kayla's
mission president.  They just returned from the mission
a few days ago.  Pres. and Sister Castro.
What neat people.  So fun to meet them and to hear
all the great things they said about my son and new
daughter-in-law.

Sunday evening, all the kids came for dinner.
So fun just being together.

Sunday evening, Matt and Kayla traveled back to Vegas.
Oh, it will be a long time till we see them again.
I think Wynn and I better plan a trip to visit.
